Peacock Blue - mixed media collage - Copyright Ruth BallThis week's IF theme is "stitch" which is a good opportunity to show my mixed media pieces.
Based on collage from a range of found material, my own photos and various bits and bobs. The pieces are assembled and then stitched down with fine threads. I use the stitch as an additional drawing over the work to complete and anchor the image.

I firmly believe more things need the sewing machine treatment. These are well done and a nice calm visual break after seeing so many vibrant commercial images online.
